No Better Time Than Now !
With all that is in the news , there is no better time than now to clean out your cabinets, pantries, closets, to get rid of excess. Nothing makes you feel better than to be active when you what to do more than just donate money . Start locally. This year decide to get rid of the clutter, keep only what matters, give away , donate, throw out or recycle, is always best ! WE have so much and there are still so many that need our help ! Have a garage sale or local charity sale.
You can donate to your local animal shelters funds , blankets, sheets, food .
What is clear is that it will take a coordinated effect to reduce and offset the in balances of our world and society. Although these changes are significant , simplification, will be the secret . We CAN Do It !

It Happen Again
After going through the Northridge earthquake ourselves in 1994 , I have a little glimpse of what it is like . For a split second you think you are going to die and then it's over. It was for about a year that I woke up everyday right at 4:31a.m. in the morning ... the same time the earthquake hit . But that can't compare to what they are going through over in Haiti. To this day we have our earthquake supplies ready at hand . You learn quickly when your services and supplies are nothing for two weeks and there nothing you can do . It happened when 9/11 and Katrina hit , and the tornado that hit our hometown .. our lives here are so full here and yet there are so many without anything ! Not even water to drink . Washing the dishes or brushing my teeth , showering , I do not want to waste one drop of water ~ knowing they have no drops of water to drink ...our hearts are heavy and go out to those in need .

Wow What a busy End of the Year !
Happy New Year !
It's been about 6 plus months since I've the chance to sit and write any updates. Hope all is well!
We have had a really fabulous summer and fall and now we are setting in form the winter.
That's if you can even call it "winter " here in Sunny So Cal ! We are so blessed, when 3/4 of the Us in under ice and snow !! I must confess though, that is why I live here !! Love it . Love it !
We went through about 50 + apartments this past season. Alot of work , but well worth you ! Cause you know what that means ! We got new doggies and kittys in the building , and they are cuties . I made myself a few new promises this new year , I promise to start getting pictures on line so you can see for yourself just how great it is here !
I"M REALLY EXCITED ...about the up and coming year. We have lots of projects going on and finishing up the ones we started last year . Spreading the word about our cause to" Not ever " let another family have to get rid of their pet , just because they have to live in an apartment instead of their own home, has been easy with all the help we have received locally . You can help by telling our story , so that either more apartment owners will see it can work, and try it for themselves, or by chance you hear of someone in need of a place for their family and pets in our area. A Day in the Life of Apartment Living with Pets
"Pets You Bet! "
I am so excited to learn how to blog!
I am such a newbie I hope that you forgive my mistakes and have the patience to bear with me. It feels like I'm learning how to type all over again. I love this modern technology ! But I know it will be worth my hen pecking to share my experiences.
After 25 years as a chef & general manager in the catering and hospitality field , I semi-retired needing a change and moved to the beach! That is one of the reasons why I moved back to California in the first place. The main reason was of course to be with my new wonderful husband, which by the way we our celebrating our 20th year together !
I have since spent the last 15 years as a professional real estate manager and ended up helping to change the face of real estate rentals and apartment living with pets . I have now lived with over 100 (and up to 175 dogs of all sizes and breeds ) and 45 ++ cats, and birds, rabbits, fish , etc., all at the same time over the last 12 years in one of the most beautiful 150 units community. I can only imagine that we have had 1000's of different pets in that time . I lost count ! "Pets You Bet ! " . We have proven to the industry that it is not only a great idea but also very possible ! Many companies have adopted our idea . That's great! Because we are usually full and there are still a lot of pets that need homes !
I have also found that pet owners are nicer, kinder, gentler, and so passionate about their pets. I would also say that at least 50-60 % of the pets here were adopted before they moved here.
Our community has been featured on the front page of the local newspaper and very popular in the South Bay area in Southern Ca." Pets You Bet! " We are "One of a Kind", of this size, that I know of. So we started specializing in helping people find a wonderful place to live with their pets , those relocating into the area, or just needing a short term place in between homes or remodeling.We also have many long term residences too! We even have people move away and then come back.
We have received many, many, many letters with great appreciation for what we do . Even as far away as Florida and New York letters thanking us for being an example, that "Pets are People Too !"
Too many people and great families where being turned down and turned away for a place to live because they have pets. To hear and see them cry at just the thought of having to give up a part of they family was so sad and unbearable to them and me . You might as well have asked them to give up their daughter or son !
It was terrible! I had to do something ! And something I did .

I started allowing them to have a chance to prove to everyone that just because they had a pet was no way a reason to not rent to them . So we as a community are glad and proud to say that we are going on our next century of loving and living with pets in apartment living! It has not always been easy , but we have learned over the years what works and what doesn't work .
